In Washington DC, this process can be complex due to the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA). TOPA gives tenants a right of first refusal, meaning they have the option to purchase the property before it is sold to another buyer.
As your DC realtor, I will navigate the TOPA process for you, providing expert guidance and the following services:
Sending TOPA notice to Tenants.
Sending TOPA notice to the Department of Housing and Community Developement.
Sending TOPA notice to Rental Conversion and Sale Division.
Collecting signatures from Tenants.
Submitting certified mail receipts and signed TOPA acknowledgments to the Title Company to show that the TOPA process was carried out according to the law.
